(after)-Tsunacon loot

Hello everyone,

The first con of the year is over, thus con season has started again. Too bad I'll probably miss some of them due to the sheer fact that they're either too far away or too expensive. Anyway I did quite the number to my bankaccount this week. 'Cause this is this week's loot!!...;
Lootlist;
- D.Gray-man manga 9, 10 and 11
- Code Geass Lelouch manga 7
- Code Breaker manga 2
- Candidate for Goddess manga 1 to 5
- Black Butler manga 3
- Fate stay night manga 1
- Dance in the Vampire bund manga 1
- Afterschool Charisma manga 2
- Hakurei Reimu nendoroid.
- Haruhi Suzumiya nendoroid
- Openminded Black Butler dojinshi
- chocolate mirror
- cake earrings

 Next some close-ups from this huge loot!;
I bought the Haruhi nendoroid at Tsunacon, I managed to get a discount on it too!!, which was super because I would've gotten it none the less! XD I also bought all of the manga at Tsunacon. A lot of these manga are parts of series I already own. But I also bought a few new manga, "Fate stay night" and "Dance in the vampire bund".

I managed to get Candidate for Goddess 1 to 5 for only €12,-. They're second hand, but they look like they're in a good state nonetheless! The Hakurei Reimu nendoroid is something that arrived this week. I didn't buy it on Tsunacon (that would've been awesome), but I included her in this loot shot anyway
That is a Dojinshi from the Dutch Dojinshi circle Openminded. Yep, it is shounen-ai/yaoi and as you can see it is about Black Butler. The artists from Openminded were really nice! They even added a drawing on the inside! The Dojinshi itself is great too! Had fun reading it!
The chocolate you see on the photo, is actually a mirror! I really had to have it the moment I saw it! I also bought a pair of cake-earrings! They make me look even sweeter!

 Hey!!! Kirby arrived too! My sister went with me to Tsunacon, but since she didn't have the budget I did, she only bought a Kirby! (and some noodles! XD)

That concludes this week's post. Next week I'll probably do a review again! But to make up to you this week I'll give you my interpretation of Hatsune Miku's the world is mine! XD

Raito had other ideas about the world being Miku's! XD

See you all next week,

Tsunacon 2011!....

Hello everyone,
 Yesterday was an awesome day! It was not only just the 30th of January, but also the day of Tsunacon 2011. Yes it was awesome indeed. I’ll be giving you a description of this day! XD

5:30 - No I wasn’t planning to wake up this early, but I was up nonetheless. I had my cosplay and food ready, thus decided I could do with another half hour of sleep. Too bad my alarmclock decided to act up and not go of at all! Luckily I had a sister, whom I greatly love, who decided to wake me up at 6:30, thus making sure I wasn’t going to end up missing the train. ^-^’
 6:30 – Yep, finally it was stress-time! Even though I had everything ready I was still freaking out everytime I looked at the clock. My lenses were not cooperating at all, but apart from that it wasn’t so bad at all.

7:15 – after eating something that should’ve been breakfast (only some orange juice, I wasn’t hungry), my sister, my boyfriend and me took off to the trainstation. It was freezing cold outside. I believe my toes are still recovering from being frozen all day! ^-^' We met some of our friends at the station and sat with them in the train. Too bad we all were still a bit sleepy.

9;30 - we arrived at Sliedrecht. Not really much of a train station there, but that was fine since we could see the convention building right away. We were accompanied by loads of cosplayers that were in the same train as us. I must say we had lots of fun about the 'normal' people on the station, they must have had a heartattack when they saw so much weirdly-dressed people.
We arrived at the convention building and the line was already huge!!!! All we could do was wait for our toes to freeze, while slowly getting further in the line.

10:15 After a chaotic entrance we managed to find the dressingrooms and finally get ready for this years first convention. After that our schedule was chaos! XD We went into the dealerroom quite a few times, just to check on stuff we wanted had been bought already. I spend quite a lot of money yesterday, but not more than I anticipated.  I also managed to take some pictures of cosplayers that looked really good.
Let me share them with you;

Next up is another Vocaloid! Hatsune Miku (snow version)

I'm not really a Vocaloid fangirl, but  do happen to like their character design! XD Well, next up is Hakurei Reimu and a crosplayed one at that! ^-^ I must say I quite like this character and cosplay.

Well next up is a character that I was quite surprised to see. The younger generation will most likely all know him! It is.................. Perry! My little sister kept bothering me about making a picture of him so I did!

Then someone appeared with the most beautiful prop that I have ever seen! It was Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler and he was carrying a very expensive looking teaset! Here are a few pictures;

After taking a few pictures of people I had to go to a shoot of my own. Yep, I was cosplayed as Anya Alstreim. The photos of the professional photographer have yet to come, but my boyfriend managed to make some of the shoot too, so here are some pics.

Well, I was worried I might catch a cold, so I went inside very quickly. My sister, who was cosplayed as Winry, was asked to pose quite a lot of times, so we had fun teasing her since it was her first convention and she was surprise-hugged a lot! XD

Here's some pics of Fullmetal Alchemist cosplayers including my sis.

Dinner was the next thing on our agenda and nothing really interesting happened after that. Well, apart from raiding the dealerroom again XD
The trainride back was quite eventful, wel the first part was. It was quite busy at the trainstation so we might shocked some more people. Of course there were some people complaining since the train's directions were wrongly indicated, but then there was also my boyfriend who was complaining about the temperature!

After a very long trainride, we were home again. Exhausted but we had had a very good time! To all the people I met and all the people I remet! XD I would like to say thank you for the great day and I hope to see you all soon!

Sunday I will post again and I will show you my Tsunacon loot! Hopefuly my Hakurei Reimu Nendoroid will have arrived by then!
See you all next week,

Chroche Leytal Pastalia review

Hello!,

Since I was packageless this week I'll only be reviewing one of my figures today.  I will be reviewing my Chroche Leytal Pastalia, she is a character from the game Ar Tonelico II. I have never played nor seen this game, but when I saw this figure it was love at first sight. Her character design is really beatiful and her 'wings' are perfectlt detailed. Well before I go and tell you all her pro's and con's let me show you a few pictures.

As I stated in my last post I don't have a great professional camera, so the pictures won't be of great quality, but I'll do my best to point out things in words.
The first thing I noticed about this figure, was that she was very white... (duhhh), but that isn't a bad thing really. By making her base color white, they managed to accentuate her figure. This makes her golden hair stand out too.
Her long legs are accentuated too, the short skirt and loose 'cape', make them look even longer. The wide wings and again the loose 'cape' make her waist look even smaller. That added to her bosom, which stands out thanks to the corset she is wearing, makes a very feminine figure without it looking sexual.

 From the side you can see the sheer volume of her hair. It is beatifully crafted and the curls are shaded quite well. The only problem I have with her hair is that I can't see the ends of her hair. This makes her hair somewhat unrealistic.
From the side you get a better look at the wings too. They are sculpted beatifully and have something playful about them. Some of the feathers stand up, thus creating a less static feeling about it.

From the back you can see the upstanding feathers even better. You can also see her high heels from the back. Even her heels are detailed, with two different colors of gold.
From the other side you can see her scabbard more clearly. This being purple makes it stand out from the rest of the figure. Even though it is quite simple it suits her well.

 A close up of her face reveals a somewhat blank, maybe shocked facial expression. I don't like her face that much. Even though I don't like the expression, I must say that the eyes stand out, they are really nicely colored.
I don't know what her hairpiece means, but it sure is detailed. Two different colors of gold and one silver color, it sounds simple but it is stunning.

Another shot of her clothing and I hope you can see the detailing they did on the skirt. There is some lacework on the skirt and top of the corset. But you can also see one of the flaws on this figure. The skirt isn't colored too well. The colortransition on the skirt is not very gradual. This is one of the flaws that is all over the figure, but is most noticeable on the skirt and corset.

Another shot from the back reveals, what I have said before. There seem to be no hair ends.

On this picture you can see, both her stunning legs and the base. The base is quite basic. ^-^' (no pun intended) I'm glad they made a white base, because this way it doesn't distract from the figure.
Her boots are nicely shaped. They define the shape of the legs very well. The golden details on them are nice too.
 Her sword although not the center of attention of this figure, is quite detailed. The anotomy of the hand that holds it isn;t off, so it is very pleasant to look at.
The hand on her bosom is crafted nicely. It is nonchalantly placed above her bosom, together with the shocked face, this makes her look as if she says, "me?...".
Onto the scores.......
Sculpting; 9.5/10, She is sculpted beautifully especially her wings and clothes. There are no real flaws with the sculpting of this figure.
Painting; 7.5/10, the colorscheme is nice, but the coloring isn't gradual enough.
Posing; 8.5/10, I really like her pose, but it is somewhat static, they could've done another facial expression, since this one is kind of blank.
Stand; 8/10 The base fits the colors and does what it is supposed to do. Nothing to object to.
Enjoyment; 8/10, I really like this figure, I fell in love with it instantly. I have a fond memory of bargaining before I was able to get it and I look at it with much enjoyment.
Overall; 8.3/10

Here is a bonus shot I made a while ago.

I hope you found this review useful. Next week I will probably upload on monday instead of sunday, because I will be going to Tsunacon anime/manga convention in the Netherlands. Thus next weeks post will probably be about Tsunacon too. I will be cosplaying as Anya Alstreim from Code Geass, hopefully I won't catch a cold! XD

See you all next week,

week 2 loot + Yagami Light review

Hello everyone,
This week was one of much exams and sickness. Yep I had the flu this week. Fortunately none of my figures seem to have caught it and as such they look as great as ever! ^-^
Unfortunately Customs caught my most expensive package ever. I had to pay €38,- euros extra to get my precious Light Yagami and Dead Master.
Well, first a loot picture of this week!
As you can see it had to be a huge box Amiami put them in. And it sure was! That's probably why customs picked it out! XD Since I'm doing a review on the resin figure of Yagami Light this week, I'm only making a few pictures of Dead Master.

This how she is neatly seated in my bookcase. Having fun next to Black Rock Shooter. How they don't attack each other while I'm asleep. XD She looks as great as I expected from Good Smile Company. The only trouble I had was getting her to sit while to having to be afraid of her falling forward to her death!

Now onto reviewing!.........
Before going onto the pictures I would like to remind you that I don''t have a professional camera, The colors on the pictures might vary from the actual product. Because I had to make sure the details were vieable by you, I used a flash, but this varied the colors a bit.

Here are some pictures from different angles;
You can't see the detailing on these pictures well, so I'll just ramble a bit about the sculpturing and show you the stunning details later! XD
He is very well sculpted, The scythe's curves are very well detailed and shaded, The blade is shiny and ready to cut. Another stunning sculpt is his tie, it flows according to the non-existing wind and is greatly detailed and shaded too.
 Back to the non-existing wind. Everything on him moves to this wind and is sculpted accordingly. The fabric of his clothes as ripples where you would expect them to be. When you look at this figure it is not as static as it feels, it looks as if it's moving because of the way his clothes move around his figure.

 His hair is a bit darker than I would've liked it, but it is greatly shaded. Though there are some minor flaws in his hair, when the strands don't flow together too well. His eyes, ears and nose, however are greatly sculpted and I have no complains, even his nostrils look stunning!
From the back you get another great view of the folds in his colthes and the fact that they took the seamlines of his clothes into account when they made this. Something I noticed was that the seamline on his right shoulder wasn't as smooth as the one on the back. There is some excess material here, but it doesn't really show unless you're looking very carefully.
There is, however, a flaw which I find very annoying. On the back of his left leg they seemed to has missed a few spots when painting or it might have chipped off somehow. Anyway I can't unwatch it now and it keeps bugging me.

There is another flaw, which is much less visible, but noticeable anyway, which is on his hand that holds the scythe. I don't think it is visible in the pictures, but it is there. The part where is hand connects with the scythe is painted terribly. His nials while manicured on his thumb, are horrible on the other fingers. There is some excess material too and some parts of the scythe have some skin colored parts.
However on this picture you can also see one of his greatest assets, namely the scythe. The curves are great as is the shading. It looks rusty and shiny without looking bootleg. The cloth that goes around the scythe is great too, it looks ragged and torn, but it a good way.

As I said before, his facial expression is awesome. It is greatly detailed, but the most stunning part of his face are his eyes. Detailed and expressing they are one of his best features. The buttons all over his clothing are simple yet effective, not very detailed, but the fact that they even made buttonholes in his jacket show that they put great effort in creating this masterpiece.
The colors are stunning overall as is the shading, Thus I think they did a great job in that aspect. I have found some flaw in the sculpting, but there were some parts where they surprised me with the amount of detail they put into the figure. The next picture is not going to show nearly as much detail as the real figure, but the shoes, they are just so enormously well detail I had to try to show it to you;

It seems like you can almost see the seamlines of his shoes, almost like you can see the wire used to tie his shoes together. Yep this is the detail that scared and surprised me the most about this figure! ^-^

All in all it is a great figure so here are the scores;
Sculpting; 9/10, There are some minor flaws, but nothing that can be seen from the distance you would normally place them at. The rest of the figure is greatly detailed thus it somewhat makes up for these minor flaws.
Painting; 8.5/10, they did a good job at shading and coloring the figure, but I wasn't entirely happy with the color of his tie and the shading they did on that part.
Posing; 9.5/10, His pose is excellent. He looks as if he is moving, but he's actually standing still and on top of that the pose fits his character.
Stand; 8/10, nothing special actually, but the fact I was able to rotate him and not his stand, it awesome, because I get to place him at an angle I like, but still being able to read the silver plate on his stand.
Enjoyment; 9.5/10, Appart from the minor flaws he is great, nothing to worry about. He looks stunning and is great to look at.
Overall; 8.9/10
For those of you who worried about him breaking his neck before arriving at your door, whom I was one of ! XD. Fear no more. I will show you why!
Here are some pictures of the box. As you can see there is no window, so you can't see if he is broken untill you open it.
  Not a very special or sturdy looking box, but looks can be deceiving. In this case they are.
 You can see some pictures on the box of what you hope to find inside. I think the art on this box is very well done. It is not very colorfull, but it is nice none the less.
Ok, now onto the part where I tell you why you shouldn't worry!;
 This is what you find as soon as you open your long awaited package. A lot of styrofoam, which leaves almost no space to roam inside the box. The stryfoam can't really move inside the box. When we open the styrofoam, he is even more protected.
There is a lot of plastic between the loose parts like the cloth around the scythe, to protect it from making marks on his clothing. The fact that Light can't move at all inside this styrofoam chamber is why it is almost certain that he will arrive to you in one piece.

Well this is the end of my post of this week. I hope I worked away some doubts about buying the Yagami Light figure. I hope to see you all next week! Have a nice weekend!
